CLF | Fall Math and Science Institute

The CLF Fall Math and Science Institute is designed to mentor middle and high school students in science (math is an inclusive aspect of science related career fields).  The program's mission is to make math and science accessible to the minority youth, especially males, through personalized experiences with science and those professionals who represent related professions.

At the heart of this work is youth development aimed at getting inner city and rural kids to think about math and science as a career option.  The CLF Fall Math and Science Institute targets students who may not already be academically successful, but are curious, open minded and passionate.  In doing so, students are enabled to explore math and science, increase their mathematical and scientific literacy, develop leadership skills, and expand their life and career options. The program will be a multi-year ongoing program that will have a year round supplemental piece to assist in the development of the participating youth who will lead the way in becoming our community's future scientists, doctors, engineers, architects, and YES, astronauts. The stars are the limit in their potential and the CLF Fall Math and Science Institute seeks to be the rocket fuel that will help to propel our youth to higher heights.
