Community Leadership Forum

The Community Leadership Forum (CLF) was organized by Michael as a vehicle for nurturing the leadership development of young African American leaders (with an emphasis on males) in the areas of public policy, community development, and law. CLF recognizes that to whom much is given, much is required and it promotes the need for committed public service to the youth of its programs. The forum also promotes the empowerment of the community by hosting educational programs that address pressing, contemporary issues that impact us all.
The Community Leadership Forum seeks to promote the gifts of human potential in our youth, recognizing that their developing talents must be nurtured wisely, averting known compromising scenarios and bringing together our collective, resourceful community capabilities to ensure the arrival of our next generation of leaders.

The CLF will incorporate the following components:
CLF | Summer Institute- is an at-risk prevention/intervention program designed for middle school age black males that will specifically focus on: conflict resolution skills, public speaking skills, respect for self and others, self discipline, and cultural connections.
CLF Fall Math and Science Institute- 4 week Saturday sessions that will focus on addressing the reality of the need for more of our African American youth to pursue careers involving Math and Science (Engineering, Medicine, Phar. Research, Architecture, et al).
CLF Fellows- A select group of African American college students and recent graduates that have worked to enhance their community through a commitment to public service. These are exceptional young leaders who have overcome personal challenges in their pursuit of excellence while consistently being engaged in making the world in which they live a better place.
