Mission Statement
Maintains the official County voter registration files and conducts all elections in according to state and federal laws.

Mike sat down with Mr. Henry Laye, Director of the Spartanburg County Voter Registration and Elections Office to discuss a few contemporary items coming before the voters of Spartanburg. Mike and Mr. Laye discussed the upcoming November 2011 elections involving a number of county wide school districts board of trustees seats (including a vacant seat in School District 5 that will have to be filled by a write-in ballot) as well as a number of municipalities council seats and the County Water Commission. Secondly, the two discussed the current buzz going around the potential of Spartanburg County participating in the 2012 Presidential Preference Primary and the reality of the rush to be one of the first states to host the Primary and the associated fiscal impact it would have on Spartanburg if pursued. Lastly, Mike and Mr. Laye discussed a distinction in the current conversations involving the new Voter ID law and its perceived impact on future elections.
