Achieve GED Graduation
The ACHIEVE Program is an educational and employment program administered by the University of South Carolina Upstate which serves school dropouts from Cherokee, Spartanburg and Union counties by helping them work toward completing their education, finding jobs, and enhancing their self-esteem.
Michael served as the Commencement Speaker for the 2011 Graduating Class of the ACHIEVE Program. He spoke to the captivated audience of graduates, encouraging them to continue to build upon their current achievements and to continue to pursue their ongoing GEDs (Getting Extra Distinction!!!!!!!) in life. The ACHIEVE Program is administered by the University of Sout Carolina Upstate and funded through the Upstate Workforce Investment Board. ACHIEVE is an educational and employment program, serving school dropouts (ages15*-21) from Cherokee, Spartanburg and Union Counties (*15 and 16 year olds are accepted under special circumstances). The Program works with these out-of-school youth by helping them complete two goals: education and employability. Through building knowledge and self-esteem, the ultimate goal is to help these youth to continue their education and become productive in the workforce.
